Steinfelder Orgelvesper

Kall-Steinfeld
The program of the evening concert spans from Sweelinck (1562 -1621) through Buxtehude and Bach to Bert Matter (born 1937), presented by the Dutch organist Christine Moraals at the Baroque Steinfeld organ. The focus of the content is on three chorale arrangements of "I Will Not Let Go of God," with versions by Dietrich Buxtehude at the beginning, Johann Sebastian Bach in the middle, and at the very end of the concert by the Dutch composer Bert Matter, who was born in 1937.
The program is completed by works from Sweelinck, probably the most well-known Dutch composer for the organ, Michel Corette (1707 – 1795), Jacques Boyvin (1649 – 1706), and Mendelssohn – Bartholdy. Christine Moraal grew up in Germany, studied piano and musicology in the USA, and only later discovered her love for the organ. Since 2000, she has been active as an organist in Vaals and Maastricht. She successfully completed her master's degree there in 2018. The audience can look forward to a varied program.
At the end of the concert, a suitable donation for the financing of music at the Steinfeld Basilica is requested.
