Eifel heimisch: Abenteuertour durch das Kalltal
Sep 6, 2026 - Sep 19, 2026
Nideggen-Schmidt
This challenging hike impresses with varied paths and demanding ascents. It is just right for anyone looking for a special challenge. Those who enjoy wandering off the beaten track and want to experience breathtaking landscapes will find the perfect blend of nature experience and adventure here.
When the forests of the Eifel transform into a sea of vibrant colors in autumn, the Kall Valley reveals itself in a particularly atmospheric way. Initially, the narrow paths lead steeply up through the autumnal forest before opening up into a semi-open landscape with impressive views among mighty tree backdrops. Afterwards, the path leads down into the idyllic valley of the Kall, where the wild, romantic mountain stream meanders gently through the landscape. Along our way, we discover historical traces of World War II and experience how closely nature and history are connected here. After another demanding ascent, we are rewarded with a splendid view over the autumnal Eifel landscape. Then we dive once again into the fascinating world of the forest, where colorful leaves, gnarly trees, and the special light of autumn create a unique atmosphere. To conclude, the hike passes by a memorial site of a former watermill – with the preserved drive axis and a millstone from the year 1888, a special testament to the historical milling tradition awaits us here.
