Since 2004, you can immerse yourself in the everyday life of past times at the museum. The exhibition recalls old crafts and the lives of earlier generations. Many exhibits have been provided by citizens of Vernich and continue to be supplemented to this day.

Discover a historical school corner, a furnished kitchen, as well as bedrooms and dining rooms. Numerous unique pieces from past decades and centuries offer you exciting insights into life back then.

The history of the place and local history topics are also vividly conveyed. The exhibitions on traditional crafts are particularly popular.

Erftquelle

The "Erft" rises in the small village of Holzmülheim, directly below the Himberg. It flows from here in the direction of Bad Münstereifel until it flows into the Rhine after about 100 km near Neuss. The spring was framed with natural stones by the village community.There is also a small statue of St. John Nepomuk, who is venerated as a bridge saint and is supposed to protect against water hazards. Salvatorianer Kloster Steinfeld

Visit the Salvatorian Monestry Steinfeld with three characteristic towers.The monastery together with its Basilica belongs to the most important medieval monuments in the Rhineland. Its beginnings go back to the time of Henry I (919 - 936). The basilica attached to the monastery was built between 1142 and 1150 as one of the earliest German vaulted churches by Premonstratensians.

Urfttalsperre

The Urft Dam is the oldest valley dam in the Eifel and is located in the middle of the Eifel National Park. At the time, the dam was planned as the largest structure in Europe.
