Located in the heart of Blankenheim’s historic town center, not far from the source of the Ahr River, the Eifel Museum immerses you in the natural and cultural history of the Northern Eifel. It also houses the tourist information office, making it the perfect starting point for exploring the area.
The museum vividly illustrates the geological history and natural features of the northwestern Eifel. The exhibition is complemented by rotating displays and works by regional artists. Directly adjacent is the historic Gildehaus. Here you can experience Blankenheim’s history from its beginnings to the present day, including the exhibition “Castle and Dominion.” Works by the Eifel painter Fritz von Wille are also on display here.
At the Information Center for the Roman Agrippa Road, life in Roman times comes to life—with fascinating insights into the nearby Roman villa. This Roman site is located just about 800 meters away, making it an ideal destination for a leisurely walk.
Admission to the Eifel Museum and the Gildehaus is free on all days it is open.
