On the barren stage, Death rolls the dice to decide who shall be sent to the afterlife next. It lands on Barby, for it should be a blonde. But he hasn't reckoned with Barby! In her perfect world, Death isn't really on the agenda, so she and her sister don't take the grim gentleman, who appears before them in Barbylon, seriously at all and kindly offer him a cup of hot chocolate. Just as little as Barby realizes the grim reaper and his concern, she has little real contact with her supposed friends. The tone in the clique is sugary sweet, always friendly, superficial, and hypocritical. The grievances that the less beautiful and desirable ones endure simmer under the surface. And when Barby actually disappears, Ken and the clique seamlessly return to business as usual. But Barby is not so easily done away with ...

The play by author Silvie Lang is a biting parody of the unstoppable Barby and her rose-tinted illusionary world, in which everyone always looks very beautiful and is lovely to one another. The falsehood and superficiality of this façade are exposed, in which indeed many young people imagine themselves, enthralled by the possibilities of new media.
