Spring Visit to the Matronae
Hike around the cultural and natural history of the veneration of the Matronae: After an introduction at the Eifel Nature Center, our path leads to the Matron Temple Görresburg. Along the way, we learn about the background of the veneration of the Matronae in Celtic and Roman times and examine the historical development as well as the archetype of the mother, as it is constantly experienceable in nature. At the reconstructed temple site with Matronae dedication stones, one can experience the present quality of a sacred place. Those who wish can stay there afterwards. Sturdy shoe profile is recommended.
