Over 7.6 million enthusiastic spectators in halls and arenas worldwide have seen and celebrated “Rhythm of the Dance” in its now 25-year history. And the success story continues even after the anniversary year – on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Stadttheater Euskirchen. Then “Rhythm of the Dance” – performed by the National Dance Company of Ireland – will captivate once again with exciting new moments, old strengths, and a brand new production. A furious dance experience that gets under your skin and into your legs.

Like no other Irish dance production, “Rhythm of the Dance” has been successfully combining traditional highlights of Irish culture with modern elements into a vibrant show for over 25 years. The fascinating dance choreographies, masterfully staged by choreographer Doireann Carney, combine the most difficult dynamic Irish steps with influences from modern dance, dancerly grace and precision with athletic performance. Romantic moments alternate with dynamic dance scenes. The performances range from traditional, classical dances to thrilling rapid scenes from modern urban Ireland, featuring quiet moments as well as a breathtaking finale, where all 22 dancers whirl across the stage at a murderous pace.

The show also impresses with its musical highlights, for example, when the multi-member live band with Irish bodhrán, bagpipes, accordion, drums, violin, and flute takes the stage and fills the hall with traditional Irish melodies, melancholic ballads, and lively tunes. Folkloric charm and vibrant tradition are also radiated by “The Young Irish Tenors,” who accompany the tour as special guests, presenting Irish folk songs in a powerful and immensely charming manner.

“Rhythm of the Dance” is not only a spectacular live experience thanks to the grand dancers and musicians. The beautiful, diverse costumes, the atmospheric set design, and the sophisticated light show continually set new highlights throughout the two-hour show. And “Rhythm of the Dance” is – both on and off stage – truly a masterclass show. Because behind the brilliant ensemble is an equally remarkable team, such as producer Kieran Cavanagh, who has previously been responsible for successful tours, including those of James Brown, Van Morrison, and Johnny Cash, fulfilling a long-held dream with this Irish dance show. Or Carl Hession, one of the most important and renowned composers of traditional Irish music, whom Cavanagh was able to engage for “Rhythm of the Dance.”
