In the heart of the historic town center, surrounded by half-timbered buildings and with a breathtaking view of Grafenburg Castle, Curtius-Schulten-Platz is transformed into a one-of-a-kind outdoor movie theater. To get you in the mood, there will be live music starting at 8 p.m.—a traditional part of the summer movie series. The movie starts at 9:00 p.m., as dusk falls. You can also look forward to delicious tarte flambée, cold Blanq Eifler Helles beer, and fresh popcorn.

As always, the audience decided which films to screen through a public vote. This year, we’re showing “The Devil Wears Prada 2” (August 21, 2026) and “Extrawurst” (August 22, 2026).

August 21, 2026 - The Devil Wears Prada 2
It’s been about 20 years since Andrea “Andy” Sachs (Anne Hathaway) and Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) suffered under the devilish ways of fashion magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) as her assistants. In the meantime, however, the two women have embarked on their own career paths—Emily, in fact, has become extremely successful as the manager of a luxury brand whose advertising campaigns cost an unimaginable amount of money. But Miranda Priestley can only dream of such a budget these days. The days of money rolling in are over for her, because in the Internet age, sales of her classic print magazine “Runway” keep getting worse and worse. But as fate would have it, the paths of Miranda, Andy, and Emily cross again after all this time—and art director Nigel (Stanley Tucci) is also sure to be there when the New York fashion scene gets back into full swing.

August 22, 2026 - Extrawurst
At a tennis club somewhere in the German countryside, plans are underway for the summer festival, and under Herbert’s (Hape Kerkeling) strict leadership, preparations take center stage. When it’s suggested that a separate barbecue be organized for Erol (Fahri Yardım), the club’s only Muslim member, unexpected tensions arise. What begins as a seemingly harmless discussion quickly escalates into a debate about social and personal conflicts. As tempers continue to flare, the club ultimately finds itself on the brink of collapse.
