Öffentliche Führung: "Von der Wolle"
Jul 12, 2026
Euskirchen-Kuchenheim
Public guided tour of the special exhibition “From Wool”
Wool was one of the most important raw materials for the clothing history of mankind. From 1800 onwards, there were significant changes in wool production and processing. In sheep breeding, the breeding of fine-wool Merino sheep became predominant. This, in turn, led to inventions in the processing industry. Or did the whole story unfold the other way around? And what role does fashion play in this? In five time slices, the interactions between wool production, its technical processing possibilities, and the interest in its use by humans are demonstrated.
