This authentic work by Estonian filmmaker Anna Hints celebrates the healing power of female solidarity. This haunting and gripping documentary follows a group of women over the course of a year as they perform a cleansing ritual, the traditional smoke sauna. Caught by the empathetic listening of their companions, the women tell of first loves, but also of sexual assaults and unbearable birth pains.
