Kulturtage in Roetgen: Mark Twain - Grüße aus dem Jenseits
Jun 20, 2026
Roetgen
In 1910, Mark Twain passed away. Since then, his soul has been restless, traveling through the galaxies of the universe in search of paradise. He may have stood before the gates of heaven, trying to secure a spot on a paradisiacal cloud, but the prospect of eternal boredom drove him onward. His restlessness took him far beyond our solar system. But even there, in the farthest reaches, Mark Twain did not find a place worth staying. Thus, his spirit decided to unite with Ulrich Tukur and, as in old times, travel by land through cities to recount all his adventures in the universe, on the Mississippi or the Neckar, of Satan's experiences on Earth and of curious incidents with actor rogues. Along the way, he was able to acquire a melodious English travel harmonium, on which Ulrich Tukur accompanied Twain’s caustic humor and profound observations with ragtime and American salon music.
A rich evening in the spirit of the motto: "We should be grateful for fools; without them, the rest would have no success – and old fools are the worst."
Ulrich Tukur is one of the most renowned actors in Germany. In addition to numerous appearances in film, television, and theater, he has been investigating as Felix Murot in "Tatort" since 2010. He has been a frequent guest in the urban region, including with the Rhythmus Boys.
