On October 10 and 11, 2026, the Historic Old Town Fall Festival invites you to experience the special atmosphere around the castle and the Old Market.

Once again this year, visitors can look forward to a colorful mix of familiar favorites and new attractions. Enjoy numerous exhibitors, new program highlights, and an autumnal setting that beautifully showcases the historic backdrop.

Faches-Thumesnil Square will once again become a lively crafts and market mile. Regional exhibitors will present products crafted with great care, inviting visitors to browse and discover.
In the upper castle courtyard, a fair will take place featuring a variety of attractions for young and old alike. Various artists and other roaming performers will provide special entertainment and a unique atmosphere throughout the event.
The lower castle courtyard is dedicated entirely to historical crafts. Artistic blacksmiths will demonstrate their skills there, while the knights’ encampment and medieval demonstrations in the Faches-Thumesnil-Platz/Pestwiese area impressively round out the historical ambiance.
A diverse program for the whole family also features, among other things, performances by the City Starlights, face painting for children, and numerous hands-on activities for both children and adults.

The various event areas are connected by charming decorations, walking acts, and numerous pumpkins lining the Luciaweg.

Refreshments are also well provided for. At the Alter Markt, guests can look forward to a variety of food trucks, beverage stands, and a diverse stage program.

The official opening of the event will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Alter Markt .
