Kulturtage in Roetgen: Loriot "Der ganz offene Brief"
Jun 21, 2026
Roetgen
From 1957 to 1961, the column "The Completely Open Letter" appeared in the illustrated magazine QUICK. The author, a certain Loriot, painted a
portrait of manners of the young Federal Republic in his letters and took the first step from illustrator to author. Loriot's concise, always pointed announcements as a television host were already evident here, as were the sketches with which he would fascinate a mass audience a decade later. Drawings that complemented the written word were, of course, also included.
Johann von Bülow, known from films such as "Das Adlon", "Der Minister", and "Die
Spiegel-Affäre", performs Loriot's recently rediscovered and published letters on stage for the first time.
Born in Munich in 1972, von Bülow is among the most renowned German
actors of his generation. After studying at the Otto Falckenberg School, he performed at significant theaters like the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Additionally, he is seen in numerous German and international films and TV shows and works with directors such as Oliver Hirschbiegel and François Ozon.
