The Fa Bene Ensemble— , which was still listed as the “Wind Soloists of the German Doctors’ Orchestra” during its first guest performance in Steinfeld in 2020—will perform works by Gioachino Rossini (1792–1868), Louis Théodore Gouvy (1819–1898), Robert Schumann (1810–1856), and Charles Gounod (1818–1899). Under the direction of Holger Simon (Berlin), a bassoonist with the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the ensemble—which can hold its own against many professional orchestras—delighted the audience with a refreshing interpretation and its passionate performance.

True to its name, “Fa Bene ” is dedicated to a good cause at this concert.

The collection taken at the end of the concert will go toward the church music projects of the choir, orchestra, and soloists at the Steinfeld Basilica.
