Born in London and raised in French-speaking Switzerland, Yvonne Delisle completed her artistic training at the renowned "Ecole cantonale des Beaux-Arts et d'Art appliqué" in Lausanne. She then moved to Cologne and later to the Eifel region.
A statement by the French painter Jean-Baptist-Simeon Chardin, who formulated the question in the 18th century: "Who told you that one paints with colors? You use colors, but you paint with feeling."
"I work figuratively. The grounding of the canvas or the color of the paper should already contain the basic mood with its tone," the artist explains her working method. In general, she chooses her motifs according to what moves or touches her at the time. Be it the sensation of beauty, tension or emotion. Her art is characterized by a fine feeling for light, colors and moods. In this way, she expresses her deep connection to people and to life in all its facets.
Her works have been on public display since 1985 in numerous solo and group exhibitions
