Eifel heimisch: "Mystische Orte und uralte Sagen"
Oct 4, 2026 - Oct 11, 2026
Nideggen-Abenden
Experience a dreamlike hike through the breathtaking nature of the Eifel! Along picturesque half-timbered houses, we leave the quaint Eifel village of Abenden. First, we hike along the idyllic meadows of the Rur. After a short but challenging ascent, we walk along impressive sandstone cliffs and enjoy magnificent panoramas over the Rurtal. We continue on narrow paths steeply up to the legendary Klemensstock – here you can expect a 360-degree view over the Eifel as far as Cologne and the Siebengebirge.
The hike leads us to mystical places from the time of the Druids. Finally, we visit the site of the legend about an ancient linden tree and learn what has become of it today. The fascinating contrasts of rugged rock landscapes, gentle meadows, cozy field paths, and almost alpine trails make the hike a special experience.
The hike requires good sure-footedness and, due to the steep ascents, a suitable level of fitness. In some places, we will climb over tree trunks or have to crawl under fallen trees. Sturdy footwear is essential for this hike.
