The choir and soloist concert focuses on Rheinberger's largest mass composition, the "Mass in C" for soloists, choir and orchestra, which is still one of the rarities of church music today. In addition, rarely heard solo hymns and motets will be performed - musical works of unique melody and harmony. Music lovers can also look forward to what is probably Rheinberger's best-known work, the "Abendlied" on the words "Bleib bei uns, Herr, denn es will Abend werden" (Stay with us, Lord, for evening is coming), whose profound effect can give the listener comfort and confidence in times of crisis.
