Ausstellung: „Blauschillernd und golden – Juwelen der Lüfte“
Jul 3, 2025 - Jul 24, 2025
Euskirchen
Since 2021, the Biological Station im Kreis Euskirchen e.V. has been implementing the large-scale nature conservation project LIFE bright Eifel valleys in cooperation with the district of Euskirchen. The European Union, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the district of Euskirchen are funding the project with a total of 4.7 million euros.
LIFE helle Eifeltäler focuses on the conservation and promotion of the two endangered butterfly species, the blue fritillary(Lycaena helle) and the golden fritillary(Euphydryas aurinia). The habitats of both species are being restored, optimized and networked. A large-scale campaign entitled "Blue iridescent and golden - jewels of the skies" will inform, involve and inspire the public about the project, its objectives and the two endangered species and their biocoenoses.
From June 2 to 24, 2025, various elements of the campaign will be on free display in the district hall. The project exhibition will be complemented by the two environmental education brochures "Fanni, the blue iridescent fritillary" and "Schecki, the golden fritillary". In addition to various giveaways from the project, the two brochures can be taken away free of charge.
