Archäologietour Nordeifel 2025: Auf alten Trassen Neues erfahren

Oct 5, 2025

Dahlem-Kronenburg

The Vennquerbahn branched off in Jünkerath to the northwest from the Eifelbahn towards Belgium and merged with the Vennbahn at Weywertz. Planned in 1904 for strategic reasons, it played a central role in supply during the First and Second World Wars. The railway line was decommissioned in 1981, and since 2015, bicycle tourism has also been rolling over the old railway bridges.

Program: Exploring the route section between Kronenburger See and the Steinertstraße railway bridge.

For families with children: Guided tours at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM

Catering: The restaurant “Seeterrasse” offers fries, fried noodles with vegetables or chicken, as well as cold drinks to go.

Please note the cyclists on the bike path.

The Eifelverein Kronenburg offers a 5 km easy circular hike to the station in Dahlem-Kronenburg at 2:00 PM. Meeting point is the LVR info point at the Kyll cycle path, Seeuferstraße 2-6, Kronenburg. Registration is not required. More information: www.eifelverein-kronenburg.de.
