Schleiden

The Schleiden Castle Church is one of the most significant late-Gothic hall churches in the Northern Eifel and will impress you with its rich history and unique interior. Originally consecrated in 1230 as a castle chapel, it was replaced by a Gothic church around 1340. Between 1516 and 1525, the three-nave, late-Gothic hall church was finally constructed, and you can still experience it today largely unchanged.

A special highlight is the nearly original König organ from 1770. With its 30 sounding stops and 1,702 pipes, it ranks among the region’s most outstanding historic organs. The colorful Renaissance windows from 1535, depicting scenes from the life of Jesus, are also impressive historical artifacts.
