Wie lebten die Römer vor 2.000 Jahren? - Legionäre und Baumeister
Aug 22, 2026 - Oct 24, 2026
Rheinbach
The militarily important main roads, bridges, and some of the public buildings in the southern Rhineland were largely built with the involvement of Roman soldiers from the nearby garrison in Bonn. They were also involved in the Eifel water pipeline, the "Roman Canal," and took over the planning and determination of the route. In the workshop, we want to find out with what tools the legionnaires carried out these important tasks. We will also learn about their other equipment: helmet, shield, sword, and protective armor. In line with the theme, the children will craft Roman bravery medals, called Phalerae.
