At the beginning or end of the hike, there is an opportunity to visit the Konrad Adenauer Memorial. We initially walk through residential streets and above Rhöndorf to the Schaaffhausen viewpoint. A non-typical route through the deeply incised and therefore shady and moist valley (referred to as "Siefen" in the Rhineland) of the Treschbach follows, before the summit of the Löwenburg offers a wide view. The Rheimsteig takes us to the Ulanderdenkmal, where we take a round through the vineyard under the Drachenfels.
