The first attraction of the tour is the 400 m high Burgberg with the Krawutschke observation tower in Bergstein. The ascent there is very steep in places, and there is a difference in altitude of approx. 225 m to overcome. From there, the trail descends steeply in places and we cross the Rur at "Gut Kallerbend". After an initially challenging ascent, the trail leads us back to Obermaubach on the other side of the reservoir and past some red sandstone formations.

Backpack provisions and sure-footed shoes are definitely necessary!
