Vortrag: Am Weg zur Agrippastraße – Römische Gräbe
Apr 16, 2026
Zülpich
The archaeological landscape of Zülpich is rich in testimonies from the Stone Age to more recent times. Time and again, it is Roman finds that fill us with wonder regarding materials and craftsmanship. However, archaeology is more than just "beautiful finds"; the stories behind them and the circumstances of their discovery are exciting and enrich our knowledge of long-past times.
Dr. Ulrike Müssemeier, archaeologist at the Nideggen-Wollersheim branch of the LVR Office for Archaeological Monument Preservation in Rhineland, presents the results of archaeological excavations from recent years in the north of Zülpich, particularly the surroundings of the late antique sarcophagus discovered in 2017.
