Unterwegs zu bunten Faltern
May 25, 2025 - Aug 3, 2025
Nettersheim
According to ancient folklore, butterflies are the flying souls of wilted flowers. In addition to the beauty of these glittering gems of the air, we also want to explore their most important ecological functions and learn about their highly complex and interesting life cycle. During an excursion to the Urfttal butterfly sanctuary, we can observe, admire and get to know many butterflies in their habitat. Which species occur in our area, which nectar plants they visit and what everyone can do to protect these magnificent sun-loving insects will also be explained during the excursion. During the excursion on May 25, there are likely to be particularly good opportunities to observe the green fritillary and the primrose cube butterfly. On June 27, the focus will be on the Round-eyed Fritillary, on July 11 on the Milky Spot and the Imperial Fritillary and during the excursion on August 3 on the jewel of the Urft Valley, the Wood Devil.
