The heirs of Lady Leslie of Cornwall have called for an auction. Valuable antiques and astonishing rarities are to go under the hammer. The auctioneer has just opened the event when the first interruption occurs. An inspector from Scotland Yard bursts in with a mysterious box in his arms. The Nobility of Cornwall are "not amused". What do the police want in the house? The inspector opens the box - and an outrageous scandal ensues!
