The Kakus Cave, located near Dreimühlen, is an atmospheric place in a picturesque landscape, the site of the oldest traces of human settlement in the Northern Eifel and the oldest nature reserve in the region. It has always been used by animals and humans as a shelter and dwelling and still fascinates visitors. Today it is an important roost for bats, which are threatened with extinction.
