Nettersheim-Marmagen
Scenic hike around Ormont to the Prüm source and through the Bragphenn high moor with its rare plant communities. This circular tour takes you around the Eifel village of Ormont, reaching an altitude of 655 m and mostly following wide forest paths. Along the way, you will pass the Prüm source. The Prüm is a tributary of the Sauer, approximately 85 km long. The highlight of the hike is the Bragphenn high moor. The saddle rain high moor was formed about 7000 years ago and consists of a valuable natural landscape with heather moorland, bog moss stands, and a Carpathian birch forest. A wooden walkway allows you to traverse this sensitive wetland. The hike also passes remnants of the former tank barriers of the Westwall. One should not overlook the wind turbines whose paths you will cross along the way.
