Kuratorinnenführung durch die Sonderausstellung "Von der Wolle"
Jul 23, 2026 - Oct 22, 2026
Euskirchen-Kuchenheim
Wool was one of the most important raw materials for the clothing history of humans. From 1800 onwards, there were major changes in wool production and processing. In sheep breeding, the breeding of fine-wool merino sheep became predominant. This, in turn, led to inventions in the processing industry. Or did the whole story unfold the other way around? And what role does fashion play in this? In five time segments, the interactions between wool production, its technical processing possibilities, and the interest in its use by humans are demonstrated.
During the tour with the curator, there are insights into the creation of the exhibition and a glimpse behind the scenes.
