Peace, silence, contemplation. On the first weekend of Advent traditionally takes place one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the Eifel. The gold village Kronenburg opens the gates to the historic Burgbering. A visit is always worthwhile in principle, once a year and every year again. Because always on the first Advent, the sleepy little gem awakens and opens its gates with the winding streets, the old half-timbered houses and the castle ruins. Kronenburg welcomes thousands and thousands of visitors to the Kronenburg Christmas Market. To describe the whole thing as "atmospheric" is an understatement. The picturesque backdrop of the older, white-plastered houses is accentuated by discreet lighting and creatively designed windows, Christmas trees, fire baskets and candles. The result is an incomparable picture, a picture of days you thought were long gone, just the "Christmas idyll". Hectic is a foreign word here. Peace, quiet and contemplation reign for three days in Kronenburg and usher in the Christmas season in a pleasant way, far away from any compulsion to consume.
