The Belgian Jacques Stotzem has been one of the most versatile and sought-after fingerstyle guitarists in the European guitar scene for almost three decades. With now 18 CDs and concert tours through Europe, America, and Asia, he is an absolute favorite among many fans of acoustic guitar music, especially in the fingerpicking technique.

The focus of his first guest performance at the Casino will be his current CD, titled “Histoires sans mots” - meaning “Stories Without Words.” The title perhaps best describes the uniqueness of Stotzem’s virtuosic playing technique: the strings of the guitar take on not only the rhythm and chord playing but also the place of melody and voice. In addition to the rather lyrical original compositions from this (and older CDs), Jacques Stotzem will also present a cross-section of his work from the past decades, which includes quite unusual adaptations of classics from rock music (e.g., by Jimi Hendrix and Rory Gallagher) for the acoustic guitar.
