The piece is suitable for school-age children but also appeals to adult audiences. The production is based on the Grimm fairy tale "The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs," which addresses human greed. The "theater 1" gives the story a contemporary framework:
Ilse Müller is different, and she looks different too: "Strange," one would say in modern English. She likes old things, enjoys repairing them, and saves items from the garbage bin. Every now and then, she talks to herself, as this helps her clarify many things. She once worked in a mill with her husband. It was the happiest time of her life, although their greatest wish—to have their own children—remained unfulfilled.
But one day, a small box floated across the creek to them, and inside lay a tiny baby. No one yet knew that this child would set off for the devil in 14 years...
Christiane Remmert tells a story about trust in life that shows that wishes can sometimes be fulfilled in very different ways than we planned.
