The Zülpicher Börde is characterized by a landscape of gentle hills. The term Börde derives from the Low German word börden and means to be fertile. As early as the Celts and Romans, the ideal conditions for local agriculture were recognized. The fertile loess soil is also a guarantee for numerous colorful flowers along the wayside. The Bürvenich tree calendar impressively illustrates the village events dating back to 1884. Afterwards, you will hike along narrow paths around the Tötschberg. From the summit cross there, you will have breathtaking views over the Börde once again. On the way back, we will pass the Michaelskapelle and learn how the residents got rid of the devil once and for all.
