Guided hike "Mystical places and ancient legends"

Experience a wonderful hike through the breathtaking nature of the Eifel! We leave the quaint Eifel village of Abenden along picturesque half-timbered houses. First we walk along the idyllic floodplains of the Rur. After a short but challenging ascent, we hike along impressive red sandstone cliffs and enjoy wonderful panoramic views over the Rur valley. We continue along narrow paths steeply up to the legendary Klemensstock - here you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view over the Eifel as far as Cologne and the Siebengebirge mountains.

The hike takes us to mystical places from the time of the Druids. Finally, we visit the site of the legend of an ancient lime tree and find out what has become of it today. The fascinating contrasts of rugged rocky landscapes, gentle meadows, leisurely country lanes and almost alpine climbs make the hike a special experience.

The hike requires good surefootedness and a reasonable level of fitness due to the steep climbs. In some places we climb over tree trunks or have to crouch under fallen trees. Sturdy footwear is essential for this hike.
