Geführte Wanderung „Durch das Tal des Weidenbachs“
Nov 29, 2025
Simmerath-Steckenborn
Experience an unforgettable hike through a fascinating landscape on the edge of the Eifel National Park. Right at the beginning, a breathtaking view opens up before us over the impressive Rursee, nestled within the gentle heights of the Eifel. Take some time to leisurely enjoy this panorama – it is the perfect start to our varied tour.
We initially follow the high trails that grant us wide views over forests, meadows, and valleys. Soon, the path becomes narrower and leads us down into the valley along natural paths. Here, we let the charm of this natural paradise wash over us. At the idyllic Weidenbach, the hike turns into a small adventure. The stream meanders picturesque through forests and open meadows – a place that seems to have sprung from a picture book. Crossing the Weidenbach promises excitement and nature experience at the same time – waterproof hiking shoes are a reliable companion here.
Another highlight awaits us at the Heinrich-Geis-Stollen. This inconspicuous structure is a testament to the engineering skills of past times and invites us to take a look into the history of the region. Over diverse forest paths, we finally climb back up to Steckenborn. Upon arriving at the top, we are rewarded with a grand finale: a picturesque view of the Dreiborner Plateau all the way to the Ordensburg Vogelsang – a view that makes the hike unforgettable.
