Geführte Wanderung "Auf alten Pfaden um den Meuchelberg"
Aug 31, 2025
Heimbach
Our hike starts in the heart of the smallest town in NRW. Shortly after the start, we marvel at one of Heimbach's many works of art. From here, our route takes us along adventurous paths steeply up to the Meuchelberg. Along the way, you can enjoy spectacular views of the idyllic Rur valley, the imposing Hengebach Castle and the Art Nouveau hydroelectric power station. Once at the top, we take a break at the unique Eifel Loop. From here, the view extends to Lake Rursee and the Kermeter mountain range. The way back leads past striking rock formations and multi-trunked oak trees on the Meuchelberg - a botanical curiosity whose secret you will discover on this tour.
The hike runs partly on narrow paths that perfectly reflect the charm of the region. However, the hike is not suitable for baby carriages. Sturdy shoes / hiking boots with treaded soles are recommended for this tour.
This tour is ideal for a brief insight into the diversity of the Eifel. You will experience beautiful nature, legendary culture and impressive views of the Eifel landscape.
Immerse yourself in a world of nature, culture and history. Discover the most beautiful side of Heimbach's local mountain!
