The daffodil tours in the Fuhrtsbachtal near Monschau-Höfen, offered by the Northern Eifel Nature Park, are officially called "Spring in the Fuhrtsbachtal". Here, the Eifel spring is defined by the wild daffodil, which grows by the millions. The daffodil blooms throughout April; the main flowering time depends heavily on the weather and can easily vary by two weeks from year to year. Besides information about the daffodil, visitors can also get information about the river pearl mussel, which is still found here - the only one in NRW - or the beaver, which has returned to the area. The renaturing measures carried out in the Fuhrtsbach Valley, which have given nature a completely different appearance than 20 or perhaps 60 years ago, are also discussed, as are the beech hedges typical of the area.
