In addition to action days and talks with international guests, those interested in photography can particularly look forward to the photography festival taking place between 24 August and 21 September 2025 taking place between 24 August and 21 September 2025. Entitled ‘Alliances’, the festival will bring together 20 exhibitions and events, it will bring international artists into dialogue with regional photographers in a dialogue.

The events will take place at venues throughout the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.

Under the auspicious title "Joke or Truth", a guided tour of Monschau turns into an exciting, light-hearted quiz for adults. If you follow the tour guide through the winding alleyways to historic buildings and squares, you will discover the traces of history that still characterize the townscape today. "Joke or truth", that is the question! Equipped with red and green cards, participants have to decide again and again whether the guide has just told them a joke or the plain truth.

"At a time when equality between men and women was still unimaginable, "Schöne Helene" ran the "Hotel de la Tour" in the former Richterisches Haus. The capable, self-confident woman was so successful that her establishment was once one of the best addresses in the city. Accompany "Schöne Helene" on a stroll through the winding alleyways of "her" town and see Monschau as it was and as it is today, from the perspective of a landlady who even impressed the crown prince in her time around 1900."
