Euskirchen und die Flut im Juli 2021. Fünf Jahre nach der Katastrophe
Jul 18, 2026 - Oct 11, 2026
Euskirchen
Shortly after July 14, 2021, the Euskirchen City Museum and City Archives called on the residents of Euskirchen to submit photos and videos from the night of the flood and the days that followed. From the countless submissions, approximately 2,500 photos and several videos were selected and preserved. Since then, the City Archives have been permanently preserving these images as part of the city’s digital heritage.
The exhibition “Euskirchen and the Flood of 2021. Five Years After the Disaster” showcases a selection of photographs from this collection project. The photos illustrate the shock and the extent of the destruction caused by the flood, as well as the courage and determination of those affected and the many volunteers who helped with the reconstruction. The exhibition has since been expanded to include recent photographs from the city center and the surrounding neighborhoods. This allows for a comparison between the situation in July 2021 and today.
