Heimbach

Experience the Eifel at its most beautiful – on a varied hike along picturesque fields, mysterious forests, and over the scenic heights of the Eifel.

The starting point of the hike is the charming little town of Heimbach, whose half-timbered houses exude a special charm alongside Hengebach Castle. We initially climb steeply up a narrow path. Along the way, we get our first glimpses of one of the oldest castles in the Eifel. Our path winds through an ancient oak forest above the Rur Valley. Marvelous distant views over the gentle hills of the Eifel won't keep us waiting much longer. In spring, the rapeseed transforms the landscape into a glowing sea of yellow flowers. After a while, the path leads us back into the forest. On the wooden art route, we can admire numerous works of art.  It is a varied hike with breathtaking views over the open landscape and the Rur Valley.

A special highlight: is the viewpoint Luna, from which you can enjoy the scenery around Heimbach once again at the end of the hike.

The tour is ideal for nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to rediscover the Eifel!
