Autorenlesung mit Oliver Hilmes
Nov 20, 2025
Euskirchen
The well-known contemporary historian Oliver Hilmes presents his latest book "Ein Ende und ein Anfang. How the summer of 45 changed the world".
It is less about big politics and more about the lives of ordinary people in Berlin and Tokyo, Munich and Paris, Bayreuth and Moscow at the end of the Second World War. Hilmes tells of challenging everyday life, of fear and hope in an absolutely exceptional situation.
Oliver Hilmes' meticulously researched descriptions are a very good addition to the current special exhibition on Euskirchen after 1945 and broaden the reader's horizons.
