Ausstellung: "Stand. Pracht. Macht." u. Buchpräsentation "Geschichten im Kr.EU"

Blankenheim
The old nobility followed the principles of power and splendor. This is the guideline with which the story of the women of the House of Manderscheid-Blankenheim in the 17th and 18th centuries is told in exhibition and publication. In the rise and fall of this significant Eifel dynasty, the daughters not only have a numerical advantage, but they also carry greater weight through their life achievements.
Most Countesses of Manderscheid-Blankenheim faced the choice: convent or marriage?
The exhibition and publication illustrate their lives in the highly noble, Catholic convents, the family marriage politics that led the last female bearers of the name to the glorious imperial court in Vienna, as well as the world of high noble women, where primarily their status and reputation were at stake.
