In the fall of 2025, the first edition of the GRÜNER SEE audio walk took place at the Steinbach Dam. Local residents shared their personal anecdotes about the lake for the sound collage. In the summer of 2026, zfz Bochum will once again organize an audio walk at the reservoir. This edition will focus more heavily on the historical aspects of the reservoir. Archival material from the Euskirchen City Archives, as well as contemporary online sources and publications, form the basis for the sound collage.

Participants will receive over-ear wireless headphones for the audio walk at a meeting point at the Steinbach Reservoir; these will allow everyone to listen to the sound collage together while strolling along the abandoned lake. The exact meeting point will be announced in advance.

AFTER the audio walk, visitors are welcome to head to the nearby Hof Zickzack. Coffee and cake will be served. Visitors are responsible for their own costs. To help us plan better, please indicate when registering for the audio walk whether you’d like to go to the café afterward.

OUTLOOK
Headphones will be available at Hof Zickzack beyond the event on July 26, 2026; they can be borrowed along with an MP3 player so you can listen to the sound collages on your own by the lake. The headphones can be rented individually or for groups of up to 25 people
