This exhibition will be something special - a novelty in the world of art exhibitions!
Since 2008, Maf Räderscheidt has been publishing a new painting daily, unless a flood or sepsis makes the work impossible. To this daily routine, she has now added a completely new facet: she records a podcast daily, in which she captures her thoughts about the painting she has just created, giving the painting her own motivation and interpretation - a concept that is realized by no one else in the world.
In Mechernich, visitors will be able to access the individual episodes related to each painting via QR codes and compare them directly on-site with the original painting!
Moreover, “A Painting a Day keeps the doctor away” is explicitly dedicated to the doctors and nurses of the Mechernich district hospital. For it is thanks to them that Maf Räderscheidt survived sepsis two years ago and can still work. To support her work, 10 percent of the sales revenue will be donated to the support association of the district hospital.
