Kulturhaus theater 1

Close to the border between the Eifel and the Ardennes in the municipality of Hellenthal is Reifferscheid Castle, first mentioned in 1106, a medieval hilltop castle typical of the Eifel. The current system of castle ruins, outer bailey and fortified castle settlement reflects the change in this former mansion.

The approximately 100-kilometre-long Eifel water pipeline from Nettersheim to Cologne is one of the largest Roman constructions this side of the Alps. It supplied Cologne, the provincial capital of Lower Germania, with fresh water from the end of the 1st to the 3rd century AD.

Kunsthof Greven

In the highlands of Bad Münstereifel, in the midst of a unique Eifel landscape with hills and valleys, meadows, forests and fields, you will find the Kunsthof Greven on a restored half-timbered farm with 7500 square metres of surrounding land. Over the past few years, an artistic gem has been created there that is second to none.

Swister Turm

The Swister Tower near Weilerswist is a remnant of the old parish and pilgrimage church of the vanished village of Swist on the Swisterberg (built c. 1100-1125). Foundation remains of the nave are attributed to the 9th century. Archaeological finds from Roman times indicate that the first Christian church was built over a Roman sanctuary. The St. James pilgrimage route passes directly by the tower.
