Le "Wilde Weg" est un sentier de découverte de la nature de 1,5 km dans le parc national de l'Eifel.

En raison de la courte distance à parcourir et des dix stations interactives, le sentier est une randonnée passionnante, surtout pour les enfants. Mais les visiteurs de tous âges peuvent bien sûr s'informer sur la nature sauvage, l'évolution de la forêt et la diversité de la faune et de la flore du parc national de l'Eifel. En outre, ils apprennent comment les tempêtes affectent une forêt, peuvent mesurer leurs forces sur un parcours d'escalade ou se sentir comme un scientifique dans une station de recherche. Une passerelle en bois de 210 mètres de long à travers la forêt sauvage permet des perspectives et des aperçus très particuliers de la nature. Ainsi, les visiteurs peuvent s'informer dans un tunnel accessible - en forme de tronc d'arbre couché - sur différentes espèces animales et leur utilisation du vieux bois et du bois mort. Ailleurs, des silhouettes en acier grandeur nature d'animaux montrent de manière exemplaire comment ceux-ci peuvent avoir un impact sur le développement de la forêt.

Le sentier sauvage fait partie de l Espace de découverte de la nature sans barrières Wilder Kermeter et est donc également accessible aux poussettes. Le Kermeter est l'une des plus grandes zones de forêt de feuillus d'un seul tenant en Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie et bénéficie, en tant que site Natura2000, d'un statut de protection particulier allant au-delà du parc national.

In the Eifel National Park centre at the Vogelsang IP “International Place”, visitors can experience nature with all their senses - indoors and outdoors. Surrounded by dense mixed deciduous forests, the modern visitors’ centre above the Urftsee lake has hosted the “Wildnis(t)räume” (“Wilderness Dreams”) exhibition - a barrier-free, interactive nature experience for people of all ages.
