Denkmal Posthalterhof, Ferienwohnungen

Built in 1683 by Thurn und Taxis, the Posthalterhof has been renovated with great attention to detail and offers an extraordinary ambience within old walls. Antique furniture and modern furnishings in the bedrooms, the newly renovated bathrooms and fully equipped, open kitchens are stylishly combined. There is also WiFi, flat-screen TVs with Netflix & Prime and Alexa in the dining and living rooms.

In addition to the ground floor (monument), which can be rented for up to 8 people, the top floor (castle maisonette) offers space for up to 6 people. There are 4 apartments on the second floor, which are ideal for 2 people. The apartment Ahrquelle offers a cozy bedroom and living room with a small kitchenette and bathroom on approx. 25 sqm. The Georgstor apartment also has a couch, a large kitchenette and a large bathroom on approx. 55 sqm. The two newly renovated apartments Jakobsweg and Eifelsteig have direct access to their own small terrace with dining table and barbecue via a door in the apartment. The apartment Jakobsweg with approx. 35sqm has studio character due to the separate double bed and large couch. The apartment Eifelsteig offers on approx. 30sqm in the cozy bedroom and living room large armchairs to relax. Dogs are welcome.

Guests on the ground floor have their own terrace with a large table and barbecue. Guests on the top floor have access to the garden on the second floor with a terrace and a large table and barbecue. Guests staying in the Ahrquelle or Georgstor apartments can also use the terrace in the garden with dining tables and barbecue.

In December 2021 we opened our new sauna area for all guests of the Posthalterhof. In our large garden there is a 500-year-old vaulted cellar built into the rock. Here our guests can relax in the sauna and whirlpool in an extraordinary atmosphere - for up to 6 people. And in the sheltered outdoor area, they can listen to music in the covered lounge corner with a warming flame and enjoy the magnificent view of Blankenheim Castle. Use of the wellness area is free of charge and can be booked by our guests for a few hours a day.

2 private parking spaces are located directly next to the Posthalterhof for guests on the ground floor. A further 3 private parking spaces are available above the garden area. Bicycles and motorcycles can also be parked safely.

Further important information:
There are a few stairs within the first floor apartment. The 4 apartments for 2 persons are located on the second floor and can be reached via the old staircase in the hallway or the stairs from the inner courtyard. The Burg Maisonette apartment is on the 2nd floor and has many beams. Due to its character and construction, our house is not suitable for children under the age of 3.

Directly opposite you can get fresh rolls, bread and cakes from the bakery. The butcher's shop Engel with Eifel quality is about 200m away and offers meat and sausages from farms in the Eifel. Pharmacy, 2 banks, KrimsKrams, boutique and bookstore are also located in the village next to Patina Antiquitäten. A supermarket, discount store and drugstore can be reached in 3 minutes by car. Excellent food is available at the "Brasserie an der Ahr", which serves French and German cuisine less than 150m from the Posthalterhof. Landlust offers tarte flambée and salads in a beautiful ambience. Other restaurants such as "My Restaurant", "Beros Grill" and "La Rustica" are just a few minutes' walk away. The "AhrZeit Cafe & Wine Bar" is located by the pond and offers wonderful seating by the water as well as good food and drink.

In addition to the Eifelsteig & AhrSteig, Eifelspuren & Eifelschleifen and Römer- & Tiergartentunnelweg trails that run through Blankenheim, the nearby Lampertstal valley and the Nohn waterfalls offer countless hiking and cycling tours.

The Nürburgring is 35 km away. The City Outlet Center and historic Bad Münstereifel are approx. 20 km away, as is the picturesque castle village of Kronenburg, which is also worth a visit with the Kronenburger See lake. Lake Freilingen, suitable for swimming, is only 15 minutes away by car, as is the butterfly house in Ahrhütte. The Cologne trade fair is 75 km away, and the journey takes less than 1 hour thanks to the good transport connections. Trier can be reached in 100 km.
