You start slightly uphill at the youth hall in Heimbach-Vlatten and leave the village behind you in the hollow of the small stream to reach an open area with views in all directions. Via Berg you reach Flois-
dorf is reached via Berg. An information board tells the history of the village and the short ascent to the Bördeblick at the Hubertus Chapel is recommended.
But then the route leads to Eicks Castle and from there to the famous Matthias Column, a stage of the Via Agrippa. After a short rest, the route continues along the Roman road towards Zülpich. At Merzenich, the route turns left via Langendorf and Juntersdorf back into the Rur-Eifel. In Embken and Wollersheim, you will pass two more boards with a brief history of the village.
After Wollersheim, the route leads slightly uphill back to the starting point. And past the Börde views on the Pützberg and the Mühlenberg.
