Enjoying the silence, casting your fishing rod into the water, taking in the beauty of nature, and reeling in a trophy fish—these are the elements that make fishing so fascinating.
There are approximately 50 kilometers of shoreline around Lake Rur and Lake Obersee where you can fish. Pike, zander, carp, and perch are just a few of the fish species found in the local waters. All you need is a fishing license, a permit, equipment, and the right bait.
By the way: There’s an accessible fishing pier at Eiserbachsee, located right in the heart of the Rursee Center. The pier meets the criteria of the Handicap-Angelverband Deutschland e. V. A accessible parking space is located directly in front of the entrance gate to the fishing area, and an accessible restroom is available at the Rurberg National Park Gate.
