Angeln am Rursee
Simmerath
Enjoying the silence, holding the fishing rod in the water, letting nature work its magic on you and taking a big fish off the hook - these are the ingredients that make fishing so fascinating.
Around the Rursee and Obersee lakes, you can fish along around 50 kilometers of shoreline. Pike, zander, carp and perch are just some of the fish species that the local underwater world has to offer. All you need is a fishing license, a permit, equipment and the right bait.
By the way: there is a barrier-free fishing jetty at the Eiserbachsee, which is located in the middle of the Rurseezentrum. The jetty meets the criteria of the German Handicap Fishing Association. There is a disabled parking space directly in front of the entrance gate to the fishing meadow and a barrier-free toilet in the Rurberg National Park Gate.
The fishing permit for the Rursee can be obtained at the Rurberg National Park Gate, Seeufer 3, 52152 Simmerath-Rurberg and at the Einruhr National Park Info Point, Franz-Becker-Straße 2, 52152 Simmerath-Einruhr. A valid fishing license must be presented to purchase the fishing permit.
No fishing license available? This can be applied for from the responsible public order office of the municipality of Simmerath on presentation of proof of the examination. A passport photo is required for this. A fee must be paid.
The regulations for fishing on the Rursee can be found on the homepage of the Fischerei-Pächtergemeinschaft Rursee e.V..
